Beginning Stage
Establish a home as a couple; couple devise systems for living happily together.
Parental Stage
Couples become parents and raise their children; couples often have less time for activities as a couple.
Launching Stage
Children leave home; family cycle begins a new generation.
Middle Age Stage
Sometimes called “Empty Nest”. Parents have time to focus on being a couple again. Couples tend to reassess their careers, take up hobbies, and become more active in the community.
Retirement Stage
Couples adjust to the aging cycle. Some people find new work to supplement income. Lends itself for travel and leisure activities.
